Bike Ride
The Cardiff World Naked Bike Ride takes place yearly and is part of the growing, worldwide, protest movement 'World Naked Bike Ride'. Its aims are to promote awareness of our need to break our addiction to oil dependency, highlight the vulnerability of cyclists on the road, promote body acceptance and celebrate the power of happy naked people on bikes helping to make the world a better place.
Our Mission
This global protest is designed to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists against traffic in cities, offering the human body as a contrast against high powered metal machines.
Its aim is to create an awareness of this vulnerability and point out the often inadequate provision for safe cycling and an over-reliance on cars in our city centres. It can also be viewed as a celebration and acceptance of our bodies.
Do I have to get naked to join in?
This is indeed the World Naked Bike Ride but you do not have to be naked if you do not want to. 'As Bare as You Dare' is the theme. From past experience, we have seen that many people start out partly dressed but somehow end up disrobing en route! Fancy dress is also a popular alternative!
